Las Vegas own, Adelitas Way, rocked the Machine Shop last Friday night. They're currently out on the road in support of their upcoming release "Getaway" (which will be available February 26th). "The Bad Reputation Tour" also features hard rockers Through Fire & Failure Anthem, each of whom performed energetic and crushing sets, getting the Flint crowd revved up and undoubtedly earned some new fans along the way.
Through Fire has a single out now called "Stronger" which the Machine Shop seemed to respond very well to. "Straitjacket", "Paralyzed" and "First World Problems" were just a few highlights from Failure Anthem's set and can be found on their debut album also titled "First World Problems".
The time had come for the night's headliner. From the first note, Rick DeJesus (vocals), Robert Zakaryan (guitar/backing vocals), Trevor "Tre" Stafford (drums) and Andrew Cushing (bass/backing vocals) were locked in and sounded in top form. Rob, almost incognito with a trucker cap and tinted shades, couldn't hide too far behind the heavy riffs and blistering guitar solos. Andrew & Tre laid the foundation of the sonic assault with broad bass lines and solid back beats. And Rick's stage presence was as commanding as his voice as Adelitas Way performed a variety of fan favorites such as "Criticize", "Invincible", "Sick" and even their newest single, "Bad Reputation". It was evident these guys were having fun performing for their fans and the fans gladly reciprocated that energy.
Special moment of the night goes to a gentleman who had reached out to Rick via social media prior to the show to arrange the opportunity for him to 'pop the question' on stage to his girlfriend. She says "Yes" and everyone bursts into "aww's & applause". As they made their way off stage, Rick dedicated the following song, "Alive", to them.
Throughout the evening, the energy was high and the mood was electric. Another solid rock show in the books for the Machine Shop and Adelitas Way. A band who, in my opinion, deserves higher praise/recognition. Definitely one of the better live bands out there. You won't be disappointed.
