Coming off their recent acoustic tour, “An Evening With Sevendust”, supporting the fan funded release of “Time Travelers & Bonfires”, Sevendust put away the stools and acoustic guitars and PLUGGED IN last Tuesday night at The Machine Shop!

Supported by Gemini Syndrome, who put on a crowd pleasing performance of their own, Sevendust came to ROCK and ROCK they did!

As with every Sevendust show I have seen, the band came at us with the same intense, high energy, in your face metal that we have all come to know and love from these hard rock Superstars. Judging from the crowd response, that energy was contagious.

Sevendust front man, Lajon Witherspoon, accompanied by his fellow bandmates, guitarists and supporting vocalists, Clint Lowery and John Connoly, bassist, Vince Hornsby and drummer/supporting vocalist, Morgan Rose, proved once again, why these incredibly talented musicians are where they are today, as they put on another stellar performance of epic proportion.

Drawing from their vast 10 album music library, Sevendust put together a Dynamic and carefully chosen set list, combining the old with the new. Beginning the night with “Pieces” off the 1999 album “NEXT”, Sevendust set forth to make it an evening not to be soon forgotten.

I have seen Sevendust many times, but there is nothing like seeing one of your favorite bands in the “up close and personal” type venue that The Machine Shop provides it’s patrons. Song after song, note after note, beat after beat, they continued to rock out, leaving the fans begging for more as they closed the set with “Splinter” off 2010’s “Cold Day Memory”. I think that was an interesting choice as a closer, but it worked, as the melodic diversity continued through til the end.

Surprisingly missing from the set? Crowd pleaser and fan favorite, “Black”, off 1995’s self-titled debut, and the song that made me fall in love with this band. Despite its absence, they still gave us what we came for, plain and simple, SEVENDUST!
